US Open Golf 2022: Round 2 – Live! | US Open

Overnight leader Adam Hadwin is out. Drive in the middle of 10. Then the approach was drawn into the nasty greenside sand. Suddenly, a JT-style puncture can occur. However, because the bunker has downhill slopes and few greens, he splashes up to 10 feet, does the best he can, and then salvages the equivalent of a right-to-left sliding putt. A harbinger of a terrible day, or a foundation for building confidence in another low round? let’s see.

Another birdie for Viktor Hovland, this time a more traditional style. The green found in the regulation was 13, and a 15-foot player rushed in. He is -2 in rounds and championships. Also -2: Matt Fitzpatrick bounced off a careless drop shot at 11 o’clock and sent a second at 12 to 3 feet to seal his deal.

PGA champion Justin Thomas got off to a terrible start this morning. From the center of the ten, he pulled the approach into a thick rough and ended up doing a double bogey six. Then he followed it up with a bogey at 11 o’clock. Suddenly one of my pre-tournament favorites crashed to +2. However, the big break on the 13th could have stopped the downward momentum. He defeated a long birdie putt, but the ball hit the back of the cup and thought of hitting a pin, but he made a dunk shot. Fortunately, he made the line plump. Otherwise he was facing the returning 10 footers. Birdie out of nowhere, and he returned to +1.

Here are some long birdie putts. Brooks Koepka rakes in a giant left-to-right swinger from the front of the three, the two winners rise to +2, and Shane Lowry whistles one out of ten fringes. He is +1. And from long to big: MJ Daffue finds sand on the green side on a driveable par 4 number 5 and scatters up to 4 feet into a continuous birdie. He is the only new leader in the US Open! Finally, on the 11th, with a short mistake by Matt Fitzpatrick, he returns to -1.

-5: Dahue (5)
-4: Hadwin
-3: Taren, Ring Melt, McIlroy, Darmen
-2: Buckley, NeSmith, Harman, Wise, Fitzpatrick, Johnson (2 *), Rose (1)

Sam Burns has won the PGA Tour three times this season, and the recent form alone could be the next taxi in the ranks to destroy his major ducks. A 25-year-old woman from Louisiana will start with a birdie today and will add more birdies after almost finishing second in par 3. He is well placed at -1. But Viktor Hovland may have something to say about it, and the Norwegians chip in from a thick rough on the 12 side to join Burns at -1 after yesterday’s 70.

Adam Hadwin is playing only this week as an alternative after qualifying. He has benefited from Paul Casey’s withdrawal. Four of the other five first-round leaders are also qualifiers, with the exception of Rory McIlroy. Very strange. Very refreshing. But does that indicate the possibility of staying on a four-day course? Well, maybe Francis Ouimet, except that MJ Dahue just did four birdies to lead Hadwin and Brookline was previously known to have brought strange surprises, so you Never know!

-4: Daffue (4), Hadwin
-3: Taren, Ring Melt, McIlroy, Darmen

Adam Hadwin leads after his opening round of 66 … But Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa, Adam Scott, Will Zaratris, Justin Thomas, Gary Woodland, and defending champion Jon Rahm. Is enthusiastically pursuing. The top of the leaderboard looks like this …

-4: Hadwin
-3: Taren, Ring Melt, McIlroy, Darmen, Dahue
-2: Buckley, NeSmith, Harman, Wise, Fitzpatrick, Johnson, Rose
-1: Rogers, Morikawa, Pio, Ram, Scott, Homa, Zaratris, Hosler, Hardy, Thomas, Woodland, Kokuraku
